There are 3 basic types of laloon strategies "Pentalaloon", "Quadlaloon", and "Shattered Laloon". Most bases will be able to be 3 starred by one of theses strategies. The most important thing when using laloon is to kill the cc troops and the archer queen. Each strategy has its own way of doing this, and each strategy has its own "target base". Ill go over each strategy in as much detail as i can, but the best way to become good at this strategy is to practice. When i first started using laloon i got just as many 1 stars as i did 3 stars.
Pentalaloon
Army composition: You will need 4 hounds in your camps, one hound in your clan castle (CC), and the rest loons. You will also need 4 rage spells. If you like you can substitute some loons for minions but this is a personal preference.
Target base: You will usually use this strategy against a base that has the archer queen (AQ) well protected, and when its cc troops are hard to lure. in order for this strat to work the AQ needs to be near an air defense (AD), it also helps if both the AQ and CC are on the same side. If the base dosnt meet these requirements then the CC troops and AQ will kill your loons before they have a chance to do anything. A base that meets these requirements perfectly is called "The General", it is very popular and easy to 3 star if you know what you are doing.
Strategy: You want to start your attack on the side with the AQ and CC. You want to send at least 2 hound to the AD near the AQ and then followed by loons. Timing is very important. You want the loons to arrive at the AD right as the first hound pops; no sooner or later. The hounds will draw the AQ and CC troops and absorb hits while your loons get to the AD. Right when the loons arrive and the first hound pops you want to drop a rage spell on top of the AD. If everything goes well then the pups will go after the AQ and CC troops, also the loons' splash damage will help kill ground troops. After both the AQ and CC troops are killed its just a normal laloon attack. Its ok if both hounds you sent to the first AD pop so long as the AD is taken out; this is the purpose of taking 5 hounds.
Quadlaloon
Army Composition: You will need 4 hounds in you camps and a golem in your CC. Also you will need troops for a CC lure this varies depending on the person usually a mixture of witches, wiz, and barbs; don't forget you also have heroes so don't go over board with the wiz. The remaining space will be for loons. For spells you will bring 4 rage.
Target base: You want a base that you can easily lure. You also need the AQ to be near the edge of the base; this means no more that 2 layers of walls. It is also ideal; but not necessary, that ADs make a square or rectangle and not just randomly placed around the base. This allows the loons to go through the base more smoothly.
Strategy: Fist off you want to lure the CC troops, you can use what ever works best for you. You want to lure them to where the AQ is so that once the CC troops are killed your troops will head towards the AQ. So once the CC troops are where you want them drop the troops you brought along with your heroes. Once the CC troops are killed drop the golem in your cc. So your golem, heroes, and wiz (kill squad)will then continue on to the base and kill the AQ. If need be you can bring wall breakers to get closer to the AQ. once the AQ is killed go ahead with the laloon attack. If the ADs are in a square shape you want to start your attack from one of the sides of this square. Drop 2 hounds per AD on that side. Remember to spread out your loons and to rage over each AD.
Shattered laloon
Army composition: You will need 3 hounds and 12 loons in your camps and 1 golem in your cc. The rest of you space will be a combination of wiz, witches, and wall breakers, it all depends on the base and your personal preference. For spells i would recommend 3 rage and 1 lightning.
Target base: This strategy requires that at least 1 AD and the AQ are next to each other and near the edge of the base. I would say no more than 3 layers of walls should be protecting this AD. Also you want the CC range to cover the area of the AD and AQ, this is so that when your kill squad enter the base they will attract the CC troops.
Strategy: This attack is called shattered laloon because it is basically half laloon and half gowiwi. You want to drop you kill squad so that as it enters the base it kills the AQ and takes of an AD. Your kill squad will consist of your golem, heroes, and combo of wiz/witch; and wall breakers if you brought some. As your kill squad is taking out the AQ and AD it will lure out the CC troops, when this happens use your lightning spell to take them out; your kill squad will take care of any stragglers. Once the AQ, at least 1 AD, and the CC troops are taken care of go ahead with your laloon attack. Use the 3 hound for the remaining 3 AD followed by loons; don't forget to use you 3 rage on top of the last 3 AD. I recommend saving a wiz or two from your kill squad for the end; time can become a problem with this strategy. If you find that you are running out of time often you can simultaneously use your kill squad and laloon attack. Just make sure to attack from opposite sides. Also make sure that your kill squad has attracted the cc troops first so that they don't lock onto your loons.
Things to keep in mind
You want to make sure to rage your loons onto the AD, that means don't wait until the loons are already above the AD before you rage them. It is also important to time your loon and hound deployment right. Hounds are faster than loons so if the AD is deeper in the base drop your loons first and then the hounds. If you drop the hound to early it wont survive long enough for the loons to get to the AD. Also you might think that if you having hounds left over when all AD are gone is a good thing; this is not the case. Though this is a good problem to have, you want all hounds to pop so that the pups can clean up after defenses are gone. Loons are very slow and you will likely run out of time if you have no pups at the end of your attack. All of these strategies are very customize-able, there is no one size fits all. As you get better you will be able to better adjust the strategy to fit the needs of the base. If you search for these attacks on YouTube you will find many example videos. I hope this helps and i can answer any questions and help you with your attack strategy if you like.
