Super Dragoon reminds me an awful lot of my air attack strategy, haha. I believe that I can take pointers from that video, however, to fix some of the problems I've faced in the past and make an effective town hall 8/9 variant. To begin my explanation, though, it has to be noted that Super Dragoon has two main goals (as was stated by Galadon):
1) To ensure that the dragons go where you want them to go (through to the town hall)
2) To clear those pesky air mines and bombs
The first goal is the more important one, of course. We've all had a case of dragons going around a base or avoiding the town hall at some point. There are two things I want to say about this: one, minions or archers can also be used to clear leftover buildings (as long as the defences are down, of course) to absolutely ensure that the dragons go where you want them, and two, hogs can be used here if there are clearly no giant bombs or splash. Neither is too critical, but it can make a difference depending on the base!
The second goal is quite important as well, though. After all, it's one of the big reasons why you throw 40-60 camp spaces away. However, you have to keep in mind that Seeking Air Mines and Air Bombs have a trigger radius of four and five tiles, respectively. So it's really a waste to be placing them so close to one another if they worry you more than defences do. Additionally, only two mines are available at town hall eight and four at town hall nine (compared to five at town hall 10), so you can probably hold back a couple of loons with that in mind. The loons are key to bringing down some defences that can distract dragons (or bring down the minions/archers that can be used for clearing that I mentioned before) though, but don't bring more than you need to! If no air defence is around to bring them down, then just bring one per defence tower with an additional two or so to clear mines and bombs, depending on the base. Even if an air defence is covering defences, keep in mind that they can only target one loon at a time, and take two to three shots to bring a loon down.
That's enough about the strategy's goals, though! Time for a big flaw when using it at town hall nine: it's only a two star strategy at best, as it is! Three lightning spells and a clan castle full of loons only take out two air defences. So what I advise is to use some loons to take out a third air defence (with the rest to clear mines/bombs and other defences), or heroes if it's far out enough. The fourth can be taken out by your dragons (hopefully) easily enough.
Man, this is a lot of text. Let's make things easier to understand with a step-by-step on an ideal base (one/two air defence(s) on/close to the outside, another two in the core):
1) Loons (or hogs) + rage (actually, you might not even need the rage; depends on the base) on the first air defence on the outside
2) Lure CC to another air defence (ideally in the core, as those ones are harder to take out) and triple lightning spell
3) Heroes or your own loons on the air defence near the outside
4) Two or more loons in a line (about four tiles away from one another) from the direction where you dragons will come to clear defences/mines/bombs
5) Archers/minions to clear other buildings (if they're in the way; this is optional, but if you're unsure if your dragons will go around, it's best to do so... it might also get you a few extra percent!)
6) Two dragons on two sides (like the video, but if you clear the junk buildings with archers/minions, this is unnecessary, actually; these dragons serve mostly to clear buildings from what I can tell, and using 80 spaces to clear buildings is a little pointless to me... I will personally be clearing with arch/minions)
7) Rest of the dragons (and heroes, if you don't use them for a third air defence) wherever you've cleared the buildings, with a rage when they need a speed up (if you're a town hall nine and you didn't have to use it in the first step)
And ta-da (hopefully)!
Well, thanks for taking the time to read! If I'm unclear at any point, feel free to ask me to clarify in the chat.
Army compositions depend highly on the base, so I'll gladly help when it comes to specific bases during war time. I'm sure that 2cut and heis will be able to offer some assistance as well if I'm not online. (:
